See? This is what happens when you leave crumbs on the table.
Spanish developer Tragnarion Studios has unveiled The Scourge Project, a sci-fi themed third person shooter. The game is being promoted as cooperative showcase, with each player experiencing their own story while contributing to the overall mission.
The game takes place in a future dominated by the tyrannical Nogari Corporation. You’ve been hired by The Tarn Initiative, a mysterious organisation devoted to loosening Nogari’s grip on the world’s energy markets. This will involve lobbying government officials and producing research to bolster… just kidding. It will involve storming the Nogari compound and kicking as much arse as you can find.
Your goal is to obtain the meteorite fragment employed by Nogari to engineer new forms of energy. Expect to encounter heavy resistance, not only from Nogari security forces, but also from the twisted alien life-forms that inhabit the base. You had to know that was coming…
Despite being offered exclusively as a digital download, the Unreal Engine powered title exhibits a considerable degree of visual polish. Of course, I’d still like to see it in motion before making a final judgement in that regard.
The Scourge Project will be available via Steam in December 2009, with XBLA and PSN versions to follow in March 2010.
