Warner Bros. Interactive has revealed that F.E.A.R. 3 is in the works. If you’re looking to avoid spoilers from the first two games in the action horror series, you should probably skip the following paragraph.

SPOILER WARNING> F.E.A.R. 3 picks up around nine months after the grisly events of the second instalment. As returning protagonist The Point Man, you’ll be working side-by-side with your brother, which is surprising given his well known status as a cannibal, not to mention his recent departure from the land of the living. In any other family, he’d be the black sheep, but as series fans will attest, Mum has him more than covered in that regard. With the needs of your family and your squad mates seemingly in direct conflict, you’ll be faced with some heart wrenching choices. <END SPOILERS

Development duties have been entrusted to DFEAR 3 Logoay 1 Studios, the team responsible for porting the original PC game to consoles. Series creators Monolith Studios will act in a consultative capacity, as will film legend John Carpenter, who will be lending his expertise to the cut scenes.

F.E.A.R. 3, or F3AR if you prefer (though God help you if you do) is due for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in spring 2010.
