Dead Space 2: Trailer and PC Confirmation

EA and Visceral Games have released the first trailer for Dead Space 2. The brief clip suggests that while series protagonist Isaac Clarke survived the events of the first game, he is now seeking counselling for his various issues. Blood splats, and Rorschach pictures combine with multiple voice-overs to show that Isaac isn’t quite ready to let go of the past just yet.

This time around it looks like he is after revenge, which may also include having to strategically dismember a lot of grotesque necromorphs. Luckily for him he has an upgraded suit and a plucky new pioneer spirit.

The original Dead Space was celebrated for its dynamic sound design and eerie score as well as multiple story collaborations in comic, animation and novel form.  Hopefully the game that divided the critics, and yes even the Black Panel, can up the variety of game-play on offer and present the public with some genuine scares.

Dead Space 2 is due for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2011. Long suffering PC gamers will be heartened by today’s announcement that Dead Space 2 will also be coming to their platform of choice.
