Lay down your guns

The creators of brutal gangland MMO All Points Bulletin have announced Project: MyWorld. The latest effort from Realtime Worlds may sound like a mad scientist’s plan for world domination, but it is in fact a friendly online space designed to encourage creativity and (wait for it) foster a sense of community. Put your hand up if you saw that one coming. Okay, put your hand back down. You’re not impressing anyone. Plus, you’re a liar.

Project: MyWorld is a virtual recreation of Earth in which players are encouraged to create, customise and exchange properties, as well as compete in mini games such as racing, flying and fishing. It appears that there will also be a strong emphasis on Facebook and Twitter connectivity. The developer describes Project: MyWorld as a blend of “social media, social gaming and traditional gaming.”

Project: MyWorld is schedule for release on PC in early 2011, which in MMO speak probably means late 2012.
