Resistance continues

Insomniac Games has commenced work on long rumoured first person shooter Resistance 3. The latest chapter in the alien invasion saga appears to take place in the American south, one of the few remaining safe havens for a decimated populace. Some would say that it’s only fitting that the birthplace of the blues should witness humanity’s denouement.

Like fellow shooters Halo: Reach and Metroid: Other M, Resistance 3 is being promoted with a live action teaser. It may not tell us a great deal about the game, but it does confirm that post apocalyptic America features at least one working train, something that Melbournians can only dream about.

Notwithstanding Insomniac’s recent multiplatform deal with EA Partners, Resistance 3 will be published by franchise owner Sony exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The second game in the series divided critics, so it will be interesting to observe the response to the new instalment. A release date is yet to be announced.
