After starring in nine games in only eight years (not including mobile phone games), you’d think Ratchet & Clank would be entitled to a breather. Not so, at least according to Insomniac Games, which is preparing to put its most famous creations through the wringer yet again.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One unites the eponymous duo with arch enemy Dr. Nefarious and the bumbling Captain Qwark. As you’ve probably guessed by now, All 4 One will support cooperative play for up to four local or online participants.

The comedic action platformer is one of at least three titles in the works at Insomniac Games, the others being fellow PlayStation 3 exclusive Resistance 3 and a mysterious multiplatform title with EA Partners. Ratchet & Clank are also set to appear in Heroes on the Move, Nihilistic Software’s forthcoming showcase for the PlayStation Move peripheral.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3 in spring 2011.
