What… the… hell?

Well I have to admit I’m at a loss for words here. When you think of Square-Enix you inevitably think of the misnamed Final Fantasy series, not a run-and-gun, third-person shooter featuring a muscled goon wearing a cartoon rabbit head. Okay, now that I think about it, the rabbit head I can understand.

If taking control of one of the “craziest criminals in the universe” and blowing away other crooks on a prison planet where “the only rule is anarchy” sounds fun, then GUN LOCO is for you. It’s not clear what the end goal is, but judging from the footage shown so far, I’m not sure I want to know.

Each criminal also boasts their own finishing moves, taunts and range of weapons, (God, I hope the rabbit head guy uses a giant carrot gun), and began life as a toy designed by Kenny Wong, co-creator of the Brothersworker action figures.

GUN LOCO will also have an online multiplayer component, with a range of game modes and multiplayer arenas, supporting up to 12-players. If this sounds like your cup of tea, then you can look forward to joining these “memorable misfits and surreal sociopaths” on Xbox 360 sometime in 2011.
