Crytek has issued a new trailer for its sci-fi epic Crysis 2. While cybernetic invaders seem to have all but conquered humanity, you’ll be surprised to hear that they didn’t count on the deeds of just one man. As the two minute clip ably demonstrates, our hero will make good use of the three key powers associated with the series’ trademark Nanosuit, namely strength, speed and invisibility.
A much hyped PC exclusive, the original Crysis hit the shelves in 2007. While some critics felt that the stunning graphics were undermined by dreary art design, the game was widely regarded as the perfect showcase for top tier gaming rigs. It will be interesting to see if the sequel packs the same visual punch, particularly as Crytek is simultaneously developing three different versions of the game.
Publisher EA Partners has revealed that Crysis 2 will be released in Australia on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and (of course) PC on Thursday 24 March 2011.
