Max Anarchy is Anarchy Reigns

The multiplayer focused third person brawler we knew ever so briefly as Max Anarchy has been formally announced as Anarchy Reigns. SEGA and Platinum Games have marked the occasion with the release of a teaser highlighting some of the combatants. It appears that you’ll be taking control of a futuristic samurai, a statuesque woman or a mechanical bull (thankfully not of the rodeo variety). The marquee name, however, is chainsaw wielding MadWorld protagonist, Jack.

Anarchy Reigns constitutes the fifth collaboration between SEGA and Platinum, MadWorld being the first. A monochromatic orgy of blood and gore, it challenged the assumption that mature content had no place on the Wii. Since then, the partnership has produced a supernatural action game (Bayonetta), an interstellar RPG (Infinite Space) and a lightning fast sci-fi shooter (Vanquish). It remains to be seen if any of the characters from these games will pop up alongside Jack in Anarchy Reigns.

Anarchy Reigns is scheduled for release on 360 and PS3 in spring 2011.
