While many regard China as the most realistic threat to US sovereignty, first person shooter Homefront depicts a future in which a unified Korea achieves the unthinkable. As the latest trailer for the game demonstrates, the good people of America are forced to endure two years of brutal occupation before you and a rag-tag band of patriots decide enough is enough. If the plot puts you in mind of a bad 80s action flick, you’ll be unsurprised to hear that it emerged from the mind of Red Dawn writer/director John Milius.
In addition to establishing Homefront’s rather grim setting, the trailer previews a series of spectacular looking vehicular action set-pieces. By the looks of it, you’ll have access to armoured cars, tanks and helicopter gunships, all of which appear to be available in multiplayer as well.
The second project from THQ first party developer Kaos Studios, Homefront is scheduled to arrive on 360, PS3 and PC on Thursday 17 March.
