There have been enough of the brain-hungry zombie games over the past few years to easily stand as a genre unto itself. However Techland’s Dead Island looks to be offering an interesting, if not new approach, to zombie murder.

The game’s latest trailer gives us a better glimpse at how much more fun rolling with some friends will be, with all sorts of sickening zombie deaths on show, from burning them in fires to running them down with cars.

It also gives us a more in-depth look at the group of survivors stranded on the island, including one with a decidedly cringe-worthy Australian accent. This comes alongside the understatement of the century, with one survivor stating “We need to get the hell out of here” – you think?

Well, we’ll all be able to “Get the hell out of here” when Dead Island releases on Friday 9 September for the PC, 360 and PS3.
