Return to San Andreas

As promised last week, Rockstar Games has provided you with your first glimpse of Grand Theft Auto V. The debut trailer for the open world crime sequel appears to confirm that you’ll be returning to the scene of the PS2 era Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. At this stage, it is unclear who you’ll be playing, however the voiceover seems to suggest that you’ll be trying to go legit. Good luck with that.

The brief clip definitely hints at the audacious violence the series is known for, but it also recalls the biting social commentary of earlier instalments. The gulf between rich and poor couldn’t be more pronounced in Rockstar’s ever so slightly askew version of California. While some of the city’s inhabitants enjoy a leisurely round of golf, others are forced to live on the streets.

Rockstar is yet to announce a release window or target platforms for Grand Theft Auto V.
