Hard Corps

Someone’s picnic is about to take a turn for the worse…

Publisher Square Enix has released new screens associated with Army Corps of Hell, its forthcoming contribution to the PSVita software library.

The colourful images hint at the level of chaos you can expect from this bloody action strategy game. As the exiled King of Hell, you’ll command a force of up to 100 goblins. As you battle and scrape your way across the land, you’ll have the chance to upgrade your feisty little minions with equipment pilfered from the bodies of fallen foes. Your ultimate goal will be to reclaim your crown, but the opportunity to crush hundreds (if not thousands) of your enemies will surely count as a happy bonus.

The game is in production at Entersphere, a Japanese studio founded by Motoi Okamoto, who worked on Pikmin and Luigi’s Mansion during his time at Nintendo. Army Corps of Hell is one a handful of promising new IPs for a console soon to be awash with sequels and spin-offs. Look for it in 2012.
