Assassin: The new fragrance from Ubisoft
The industry’s worst kept secret has been officially outed. As reported by Game Informer, Assassin’s Creed III will transfer the action from the European Renaissance to the American War of Independence. After three games in the hot seat, including last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Ezio Auditore da Firenze will be standing aside for a new master assassin.
Though the French publisher is yet to name its hero, it has already issued the official Assassin’s Creed III cover art, which offers a clear view of the new protagonist in action. If nothing else, he appears to be a resourceful warrior, his arsenal consisting of both firearms and traditional Native American weapons.
Due for release in October 2012, Assassin’s Creed III will be coming to 360, PS3 and PC. Title notwithstanding, it will actually be the fifth game in the series since 2007, ninth if you care to include handheld spinoffs and Facebook games… but why would you want to do that?
