The world’s largest (or should that be loudest) video game convergence is done and dusted for another year. Join us as we round up the games and services announced during this year’s event.

Microsoft is teaming with Rango director Gore Verbinski to produce Kinect powered adventure game Matter. You’ll take on the role of a floating metal sphere determined to survive a constantly evolving sci-fi death trap. Expect this one to land in 2013.

After more than five years of paying lip service to online gaming, Nintendo finally looks ready to begin building a genuine community. The Miiverse will provide a unified (if slightly twee) framework for Wii U owners to team up and trade tips via text and video.

Standard sized ninjas continue to enjoy the lion’s share of press attention, but their more diminutive counterparts are preparing for a comeback. A Kinect controlled offering from Square Enix, Mini Ninjas Adventures is slated to arrive on XBLA in the last week of June.

Having already revived the fortunes of EA’s premier driving franchise once back in 2010, Criterion Games is preparing to do it all again with Need For Speed: Most Wanted. This open world cops and crims racer will screech onto 360, PS3, PC and Vita in October.

The humble 2D platformer is coming to Nintendo’s latest console in the form of New Super Mario Bros. U. This slick HD package will offer all the features you’ve come to expect from the series, including four player co-op.

Wii Sports explained the Wii to a generation of console buyers. The platform holder is now pinning its hopes on Nintendo Land. A mini game collection set in a Mario, Zelda and Metroid themed amusement park, it is designed to highlight the unique features of the Wii U.

People Can Fly has moved on to other projects, but its popular Painkiller series will continue thanks to fellow Polish developer The Farm 51. A first person shooter like its predecessor, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation will reward quick thinking and even quicker reflexes.

In a genre dominated by hulking tanks and insectoid monstrosities, Nintendo’s flower power RTS for the Wii U is set to provide a breath of fresh air. Pikmin 3 will support both the Wii U GamePad and the existing Wii MotionPlus controller.

Vanquish developer Platinum Games is embracing the Wii U. Project P-100 will charge you with staving off an alien invasion by recruiting a range of super heroes to your cause, including Bonzai Man, Vending Machine Man and Toilet Bowl Man (yes, really).

The next chapter of Ubisoft’s delightfully nutty Rabbids series will seemingly ape the board game structure of Mario Party. Set in a colourful theme park, Rabbids Land for the Wii U will include “around 20” new mini games.

The wait for more Rabbids is over! Rabbids Rumble for 3DS will feature augmented reality challenges, turn based multiplayer and 100+ collectable Rabbids, a figure just shy of the number of Rabbids titles currently in production at Ubisoft. This one is due in November.

With its painterly art style and old school charms, 2011’s Rayman Origins nudged its limbless protagonist back into the spotlight. Ubisoft is planning to repeat the dose with the slightly more advanced looking Rayman Legends on the Wii U.

After dividing audiences with its Two Worlds series, Reality Pump Studios is trying its hand at survival horror. Sacrilegium sees you filling the role of courageous college student (and kung-fu practitioner) Alex as she is drawn deep into the realm of the supernatural.

Scribblenauts on the Wii U Gamepad sounds like a no brainer. Warner Bros Interactive seems to agree, confirming that Scribblenauts Unlimited is on its way to Nintendo’s latest home console. A 3DS version is also in the pipeline.

South Korean outfit CJ Games has set up shop in the good old US of A. While the developer is playing its cards close to its chest, it appears that Sin Streets will be an online shooter set in the slums of a modern metropolis.
