I arrived at 2K’s preview session feeling rather poorly, having just committed a scarcely believable sum of money to a nearby parking machine. As the funds drained rapidly from my debit card, I realised I would never reveal the sheer scale of my expenditure. I needed something (anything) to draw my mind away from the sense of shame threatening to overwhelm me. Would some hands-on time with The Bureau do the trick? I wasn’t so sure. Blizzard’s next MMO may be in trouble

World of Warcraft is starting to feel lonely.

Don’t expect to see the next MMO from the creator of World of Warcraft anytime soon. According to a report published by VentureBeat, the game provisionally known as Titan is undergoing a dramatic overhaul. It seems that around 70 staff members have been reassigned to other titles, leaving the remaining 30 to take the ambitious game back to the drawing board.

Developer Blizzard Entertainment has since released a statement confirming that the broad strokes of the VentureBeat story. “We’ve always had a highly iterative development process, and the unannounced MMO is no exception. We’ve come to a point where we need to make some large design and technology changes to the game. We’re using this opportunity to shift some of our resources to assist with other projects while the core team adapts our technology and tools to accommodate these new changes. Note that we haven’t announced any dates for the MMO.”

Titan has been in the works since at least 2008, but details such as the game’s genre and business model remain shrouded in mystery. It would now appear that Titan remains several years away from completion.

REVIEW IN BRIEF > Not only is Gunslinger the best Call to Juarez game to date, it is simply the most amount of fun to be had with a six-shooter this side of Red Dead Redemption.  Entertaining score-based shooting, light RPG trappings and some of the best narration heard in games make this a blast. Throw in a super low price and Techland’s latest becomes a no-brainer! Read the rest of this entry »

Guacamelee Review

Available on PSN (PS3 and PSV) l Published and developed by Drinkbox Studios l Classified PG l Supports 1-2 players

REVIEW IN BRIEF > Don’t be fooled by the silly title and cheesy characters. This side scrolling beat ‘em up platformer is nothing short of diabolical. I appreciated the new and interesting ways to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles, but the sheer difficulty had me close to breaking point. The creative abilities made the journey worthwhile and kept the battles interesting, but I definitely needed my co-op buddy to get me through some of the tougher bosses. Read the rest of this entry »
