Capcom STILL not done with Street Fighter IV

When it comes to reheating past glories, Capcom stands alone, particularly in the fighting game genre. The much hyped Street Fighter IV pummelled its way onto 360 and PS3 way back in 2008. While a numbered sequel hasn’t been forthcoming, the ensuing five years have witnessed the release of two retail expansions designed to expand the roster and refine the combat, namely 2010’s Super Street Fighter IV and 2011’s Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

As we approach the twilight of this console generation, Capcom is preparing to go back to the well for a fourth time. Due for retail release on 360, PS3 and PC in early 2014, Ultra Street Fighter IV will offer up five new characters and six new environments as well as a range of balancing measures related to existing matchups. Thankfully, the new content will also be made available as DLC for owners of the Super and Arcade versions of the game.

And because I am an idiot I will buy it… I love SF even though I am terrible at it.
