Having explored a series of grisly (not to mention zombie infested) environments in Deadlight, Spanish developer Tequila Works seems to be keen on a change of scenery. The debut trailer for Rime makes it clear that the developer’s next adventure will be all about blue skies, white sands and grass swaying gently in the breeze.
That’s not to say that Rime’s spectacular setting will be entirely free from peril. The game’s mysterious protagonist has to negotiate some death defying climbs and that mechanical thing at the end looks a bit menacing. The overall impression, though, is one of exploration and wonder. It all adds up to a major departure for the studio, unless, of course, zombies just happen to be living on the other side of the island.
Tequila Works creative director Raúl Rubio Munárriz describes Rime as “very personal project” for the studio. Publisher Sony is yet to announce a release date for this PS4 exclusive.
